As a small family unit, single dad Jason and his son Jason junior share a close bond.
Jason works hard to make sure that his son is well cared for, loved and happy.
Cost of living pressures mean that providing ‘extras’ is often out of the question and the additional burdens of the festive season meant additional stress for dad Jason.
This year Jason visited the UnitingSA Toy Room to select gifts for his son – including a BMX bike generously donated by one of our amazing supporters.

After their visit to the Toy Room, another generous supporter donated an adult bike which our team delivered to Jason Snr. The pair is now enjoying bike rides around the local area together.
“The gifts from UnitingSA have truly made this Christmas special for myself and Jason,” the dad said. “Their generosity has provided not only material support but also a sense of connection and care during a time that can often feel overwhelming.
“With the thoughtful presents, we’ve been able to enjoy a festive season filled with joy, even in the midst of challenges.
“The kindness shown by UnitingSA has reminded me of the importance of community, and it has helped bring hope and happiness into our home this Christmas.
“I am deeply grateful for their support and for making this holiday season brighter.”
Jason said it was also important reassurance there are people who genuinely care for others.
“The Christmas assistance I’ve received has lifted a heavy burden, allowing me to focus on what truly matters—spending quality time with loved ones and creating memories.”
