Emergency relief with food, clothes, bedding and other important items

The Emergency Assistance Program can help relieve stress if you’ve found yourself in a tough financial spot. We can provide you with food parcels, pre-loved clothing and shoes, linen, blankets, swags, sleeping bags, toiletries, hygiene packs and phone vouchers.

Financial Counselling and education workshops

Financial Counselling is a free service that can help you find long-term solutions to ease your financial stress. We can help you plan your budget, negotiate with creditors, organise debt and loan repayments, and teach you strategies for managing income and spending.

Need a loan?

The No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) provides ‘interest’ and ‘fee’ free loans to individuals, families or couples living on a lower income. You may be eligible for a loan of up to $1,500 to help you purchase essentials including household furniture and electrical appliances.

Repayments are negotiable, but generally scheduled over a 12-month period.

“I was feeling depressed and anxious before coming to Taperoo Community Centre and now I feel as though I belong for the first time in my life. The classes have helped me believe in myself and that I am capable of learning.”
