We’re writing to provide you with a Covid-19 update for UnitingSA’s Residential Aged Care homes.

Below is a summary of the current Covid-19 situation at Seaton, West Lakes, Hawksbury Gardens and Wesley House Aged Care.

UNITINGSA WEST LAKES AGED CARE

Positive case/s: 10
Exposure details: There are five Covid-positive residents on Level 1, three on Level 2 and two on Level 3.
Site Status: Level 1 has been temporarily closed until further notice. All Covid-positive residents are isolating in their rooms. The remainder of UnitingSA West Lakes Aged Care remains open to visitors.
Testing: PCR testing for Levels 1, 2 and 3 is being undertaken today.

SEATON AGED CARE

Positive case/s: 13
Exposure details: All Covid-positive residents remain in one section of the home and continue to isolate in their rooms.
Site status: All of Seaton Aged Care remains closed to visitors.
Testing: Two new cases were detected in PCR testing undertaken on Saturday. Another round of PCR testing for all residents is being undertaken today.

HAWKSBURY GARDENS AGED CARE

Positive case/s: One
Exposure details: The Covid-positive resident is located in Gawler Wing and is isolating in their room.
Site status: All of Hawksbury Gardens Aged Care is open to visitors.
Testing: All results from PCR testing undertaken on Saturday were negative. We expect PCR testing for Gawler wing will be undertaken again tomorrow.

WESLEY HOUSE AGED CARE

Positive case/s: 11
Exposure details: There are four Covid-positive residents in Semaphore wing, two in Jervois wing and five in Falie wing.
Site status: Falie East wing is closed to visitors. A small area in Semaphore wing is also closed. The resident in Jervois wing is isolating in their room, with the rest of Jervois remaining open to visitors.
Testing: Three new cases were detected in PCR testing undertaken on Friday. One is a resident in Falie wing, one is in Jervois wing and one is in Semaphore wing. One resident in Semaphore wing has been cleared. There were no positive results detected in PCR testing undertaken yesterday. A small number of results are still pending. A further round of PCR testing will be undertaken tomorrow.

Families and friends who are part of our Partners in Care initiative are able to continue providing support to residents who are in isolation due to Covid-19 restrictions. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of your care team.
