Both locally and interstate, we are seeing a rise in COVID-19 case numbers, with SA recording 4,474 cases on Thursday, 17 March 2022 alone – our highest figure in two months.

Within UnitingSA, we have also seen an increase in COVID-19 exposures and positive cases, following the return to school and Adelaide’s busy festival period.

Our Seaton Aged Care home is currently responding to an active COVID-19 outbreak at the site and remains closed to visitors as we implement our Outbreak Management Plan.

The situation at Seaton, and the broader increase in case numbers, provides a timely reminder of the need to remain vigilant to prevent COVID-19 entering our homes.

We would like to remind all family and friends of UnitingSA’s current COVID-19 visitor restrictions. By adhering to these requirements you will help us ensure that our homes remain as safe as possible in the current environment.

Our visitor restrictions include:

A limit of one visitor per day, with a single visit of up to one hour. All visits must:

  • Be pre-booked via phone or email
  • Take place between 10am and 4pm daily, or 6pm to 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Occur in the resident’s room only

We also ask family and friends to practice physical distancing, wear a face mask at all times and adhere to good hand hygiene when visiting.

In addition to the above, we also encourage residents to reconsider the need for social outings, due to the heightened risk of COVID-19 in our community.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to protect the health and safety of everyone in our care.
