Over the weekend UnitingSA was notified that another resident in the Grange wing at Westminster Village tested positive for COVID-19.

This follows PCR testing of all Grange wing residents on Friday, 18 February 2022.

The new positive case comes after the initial identification of a COVID-positive resident at around 4pm on Thursday, 17 February 2022.

The two COVID-positive residents are being looked after by dedicated staff to reduce the risk of transmission.

As advised on Friday, under SA Health guidelines, the Grange wing is now considered a COVID-19 Outbreak Zone. We are working under the direction of SA Health and the following measures remain in place:

  • The Grange wing is closed to visitors (including Partners in Care) and all residents are encouraged to remain in their room with meal deliveries and regular wellbeing checks.
  • Only staff zoned to this wing are permitted to enter this area.
  • Staff are wearing full PPE (goggles, gowns, gloves and masks).

All Grange wing residents will undergo their Day 6 round of testing on Wednesday, 23 February 2022.

Grange wing staff continue to undergo testing, with all staff returning negative results so far.

As a precautionary measure, all residents at Westminster Village will also undergo PCR testing today.

We will inform you of the results as soon as they are received.

If you have any further questions, please contact Westminster Village Aged Care directly using the contact details found here.

We appreciate your understanding and support at this time.
