We are writing to update you on the COVID-19 situation at UnitingSA West Lakes Aged Care.

Four new COVID-19 cases have been detected since our previous update on Friday, while five residents were cleared earlier today after reaching the end of their infectious period.

Our total number of COVID-positive residents is now five.

PCR testing undertaken on Thursday detected two of the new positive cases, while a third resident was identified through PCR testing carried out on Saturday.

The fourth resident, located on Level 3, returned a positive Rapid Antigen Test today. This resident is isolating in their room.

All other COVID-positive residents at UnitingSA West Lakes Aged Care are located on Level 2, which remains closed to visitors.

The rest of UnitingSA West Lakes Aged Care continues to be open.

All COVID-19 positive residents are being attended to regularly by dedicated team members.

Rapid Antigen Testing was undertaken for the whole site earlier today. PCR testing will be undertaken across the site on Wednesday, 8 June 2022.

While we will notify family and friends directly if their loved one returns a positive result, a broader update will be provided tomorrow.

If you have any questions in the interim, please speak with a member of your care team. Contact details for all of our Aged Care homes can be found on our Contact page.

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time. It is greatly appreciated by our team, who continue to diligently enact UnitingSA’s COVID-19 response plan.
