It gives me great pleasure to inform you that we will be easing visitor restrictions across all UnitingSA Aged Care homes next week.

These changes reflect the continued broader easing of COVID-19 restrictions across our community.

From Tuesday, 14 June 2022, the following updated visitor arrangements will be in place:

  • Visitors are welcome between 10am and 8pm seven days a week, with no bookings required
  • There are no restrictions on the number of visitors allowed per resident or the duration of visits
  • A negative Rapid Antigen Test must be undertaken prior to visiting
  • The COVID-19 screening QR process must be completed upon arrival

Rapid Antigen Tests are available for collection from your home’s reception during business hours.

Rapid Antigen Tests provide an effective measure to help keep COVID-19 out of our homes, with multiple cases detected through our testing program each week. Visitors must ensure they have their negative Rapid Antigen Test throughout their visit, as they may be asked by a staff member to provide evidence.

In line with Government requirements, visitors must now also provide evidence of a 2022 flu vaccination to enter any UnitingSA Aged Care home. Once they have provided evidence, they will be given a Vaccination Verification Card to streamline entry for future visits.

We also ask all visitors to continue to wear masks, practice good hand hygiene and social distancing to help protect the health and wellbeing of those within our care.

We are delighted to be in a position to relax our visitor restrictions, however remain mindful that if an Aged Care home experiences COVID-19 cases, a temporary reintroduction of visitation limits may be required.

If this situation arises in your home, we will notify you.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your cooperation with visitor arrangements throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. While the restrictions have been necessary to protect our Aged Care community, we know they have been challenging for families, friends and residents.

We look forward to welcoming more visitors back into our homes.
