We are delighted to welcome a new group of residents to UnitingSA Housing, following another successful transfer of properties from an Adelaide housing co-operative.

Housing Plus SA has selected UnitingSA Housing to take over the role of managing 19 properties in a range of locations across Adelaide’s northern and western suburbs.

The houses involved in the transfer are a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties, which are tenanted by a diverse mix of residents including single older people and families with children.

The acquisition brings UnitingSA Housing’s total property portfolio to over 580 homes, with another 45 apartments and townhouses being constructed in the coming months.

UnitingSA CEO Jenny Hall says the transfer is recognition of the organisation’s strong reputation as a trusted, quality community housing provider in the region.

“Our organisation has been providing housing, aged care and community services to South Australians for over 100 years and we understand that having stable, affordable accommodation is fundamental to people’s health and wellbeing,” Ms Hall says.

“We have worked closely with Housing Plus SA to facilitate this housing transfer and are pleased to have been able to achieve such a fantastic outcome for everyone involved.

“We feel privileged to be given the opportunity to manage this group of properties and look forward to giving residents peace of mind that our team is here to support their successful tenancy.”

The housing transfer is the eighth time since 2002 that UnitingSA Housing has been selected by a smaller housing provider to take over the management of their properties.

By becoming a tenant of UnitingSA Housing, people benefit from dedicated property support in addition to easy referral pathways to UnitingSA’s other services, including financial counselling, no-interest loans, mental health, employment, aged care and NDIS programs.
