Uniting at Ferryden Park
Community Housing Development
UnitingSA constructed eight 2-bedroom dwellings in Ferryden Park to provide safe, affordable accommodation for women experiencing or at risk of homelessness in South Australia.
Background
In January 2020, UnitingSA successfully tendered for a $1 million grant through the South Australian Housing Trust’s More Affordable Tenancies in Community Housing (MATCH) initiative.
The funds were instrumental in enabling UnitingSA to progress this vital Community Housing project.
The project has also been made possible thanks to the site’s former landowners, the Days Road Gospel Mission, who gifted the land to UnitingSA.
Project Summary & Features
- Eight 2-bedroom houses with open plan living areas provide affordable and secure rental accommodation for older women experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
- Tenants have access to a shared undercover communal space, designed to promote connection among neighbours.
