Community Housing Development

Through the SA Housing Trust (SAHT) Community Housing Asset Renewal Program, UnitingSA Housing constructed nine townhouses to be used as affordable rental options for those in need.

Background

UnitingSA successfully submitted a proposal to SAHT to redevelop a debentured property. This is the organisation’s second project delivered under the Community Housing Asset Renewal Program.

One outdated property built in 1935 has been transformed into six 2-bedroom and three 3-bedroom modern townhouses.

Project Summary & Features

  • Solar panels ensure energy-efficiency and decrease electricity costs for tenants
  • Aluminium stacker doors help bring the outdoors in
  • Ducted reverse cycle air-conditioning is installed in all nine townhouses
  • The overall site area is 1320m2 with nine allotments ranging in size from 122m2 to 196m2.
