Uniting on Devonport

Community Housing Development

UnitingSA has replaced six outdated properties in Prospect with 40 modern dwellings over four levels. The medium density development offers enhanced community living, which is affordable for South Australians on low to moderate incomes.

Background

In January 2023, UnitingSA launched its largest ever housing development on a 2,240sqm site located in Prospect.

Uniting on Devonport has delivered 40 dwellings that follow sustainable design principles and cater for a diverse mix of residents.

Built around an internal courtyard, the development encourages interaction and the creation of community among residents and provides access to generous green spaces.

  • Diverse dwelling mix includes 21 affordable apartments, ten social apartments, two high disability support apartments and seven townhouses sold privately to buyers eligible for the first home owner grant
  • Communal and private outdoor spaces for residents, and bike storage to support healthy lifestyles

“I was in such a dark place for years and my mental health issues meant I couldn’t see anything straight. With the help of my support worker, I started to feel comfortable in my own skin and now I am even working again. I will always remember how I recovered with the help I received through UnitingSA.”
