Last night SA Health issued an alert regarding a new COVID-19 case linked to the Parafield cluster. The positive case has been identified as a student from Woodville High School.

Woodville High School remains closed and is undergoing a deep clean, while SA Health is urging local residents to get tested with additional testing clinics being established in the area.

In response to the latest alert, UnitingSA’s COVID-19 Response Team has made the necessary decision to re-activate visitor restrictions across all of our homes from 10am tomorrow (Friday, 27 November 2020).

We are acutely aware of the proximity of our homes to this new public health alert location, as well as to the Parafield cluster which it has been linked to.

We will review these restrictions and provide you with a further update on Tuesday 1 December 2020, with the hope of re-opening to visitors as early as Wednesday 2 December 2020 if no further risks are identified.

This cautious approach will allow time for any person who has been potentially exposed to the new case to be contact traced by SA Health, and undergo COVID-19 testing.

The following restrictions will come into effect at 10am tomorrow:

  • All visits temporarily suspended (except for agreed end-of-life visits)
  • All resident outings temporarily suspended (except for health emergencies)

We realise this news may be disheartening for many of our residents, families and friends, as we have just re-opened our homes to visitors today. However, we take this necessary course of action with the wellbeing of our residents at the forefront of our minds.

Thank you for your understanding, and as always, our Aged Care teams remain available and ready to assist in arranging alternate communication with loved ones, such as video and telephone calls.
