In light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in South Australia in recent days and the risk this creates for the vulnerable elderly residents in our care, UnitingSA’s Aged Care homes have entered into a precautionary lockdown from 2pm on Monday, 16 November.
As an important precaution and in accordance with SA Health guidance:
- All visitation will be stopped until further notice,
- Staff movement between sites will be restricted,
- Staff will wear masks when delivering care to residents, and
- All non-essential visits by external providers will be cancelled.
There will be some exceptional circumstances, such as palliative care, where families will be supported to visit on an individual basis.
We will be closely monitoring the situation over the coming days, with the view to return to our usual operations as soon as it is safe to do so.
