Ethnic Link Services
Language support

Supporting culturally diverse communities.

Ethnic Link Services is here to help older people from non-English speaking backgrounds to remain living independently at home and in the community.

We help communicate in the language of choice and ensure that all cultural traditions and beliefs are considered.

Our bilingual and bicultural staff are trained in aged care service delivery to support older people and carers

What can we do?

We provide interpreting services, liaise between providers, help with correspondence, get people involved in activities and run language-specific programs.

Most importantly, we provide home visits and social support for vulnerable or isolated people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

To find out more about what we can do, download our brochure.

Who can we help?

This is a statewide service for people aged 65 and over and their carers. We have offices in metropolitan Adelaide, the Riverland and Whyalla.

EthnicLinks Information Hub

Our EthnicLinks Information Hub connects older people from diverse cultures with the services they need to live their best lives – at home and in the community.

There are many services available to assist older people to live safely and independently, including domestic support, such as cleaning and meals, transport to appointments, gardening, social support, and personal and nursing care.

However, many older people – especially those whose first language isn’t English – struggle to find and access the support they need. Having to register for services can be confusing and it’s sometimes hard to know where to start.

That’s where our EthnicLinks Information Hub can help. We offer free information and support in a person’s preferred language to help them:

  • Understand the range of services available to them so they can make informed decisions about their care
  • Register with My Aged Care
  • Navigate the aged care system so that they access services which are right for them

For more information, contact our Multicultural Aged Care Navigator Deepak Dev on 0422 978 161 or ethniclinks@unitingsa.com.au.

“I am so grateful I was able to move into a pet-friendly room at Regency Green Multicultural Aged Care. Whether I am going to a film or knitting or craft, my dog Bruce is always able to come. It really is wonderful.”
