  • How many car parks are available?

    Each apartment is allocated one undercover, secured parking space.

  • Where do I receive my mail?

    Individual letterboxes are located near the main apartment entry point, facing West Lakes Boulevard, on the ground floor.

  • Where can I hang my washing?

    We want to make your life easier, so each apartment is equipped with a laundry room with a retractable clothesline.

  • Where is waste collected?

    Waste is collected from a centrally located ‘waste room’ positioned on Level 4.

  • What kind of security do you have?

    At UnitingSA West Lakes, your security is our priority. Level 4 is only accessible to apartment residents and is accessed through the use of a personalised security card and designated lift.

    Your personalised security card also provides entry to the secured car park, apartment communal area and designated apartment lift lobby.

    Visitors can gain access via an intercom system located at the main apartment entry on the ground floor.

    For added security, CCTV is also located throughout the ground floor and perimeter of the building.

  • What sort of weather protection is provided on the balcony?

    Full length external aluminium louvre shutters will be installed on all apartment balconies.

  • Are internal blinds provided?

    Blinds are the resident’s responsibility.

  • Do the apartments have internet connections?

    Yes, internet is able to be connected through your chosen provider.

  • Can the apartments be modified?

    Minor changes can be negotiated with UnitingSA.

  • What is included in my maintenance fee?

    Residents contribute to the cost of running UnitingSA West Lakes through a Maintenance Fee.

    The Maintenance Fee covers costs such as:

    • Waste removal
    • Council rates
    • Building insurance (including individual units)
    • Communal courtyard and meeting area
    • Public lighting to all common areas
    • Repairs and maintenance to individual apartments (electrical, plumbing and building)
    • Cleaning of common areas and apartment windows
    • Outdoor area maintenance and landscaping
    • Administration costs

  • Do I need household insurance?

    You do not need building insurance as this is covered in our Maintenance Fee, however you will need to organise your own contents insurance.

  • Can I have pets?

    At UnitingSA West Lakes, we appreciate the companionship pets can provide and therefore welcome them to stay in your new home with you.

    While we prides ourselves on being pet-friendly, we also understand our obligations to others in our community without pets.

    We welcome the opportunity to discuss your pet’s suitability for residing at UnitingSA West Lakes.

  • Can my family and friends visit?

    Of course, this is your home after all. Your family and friends are welcome to visit you as often as they would like.

    We’re sure they’ll enjoy all that is on offer at UnitingSA West Lakes with you.

  • Where can my family and friends park?

    There is a designated visitor parking area right outside of our building.

  • Is there a communal area for events and gatherings?

    Yes, we offer a communal courtyard on the ground floor with a BBQ area and attached meeting room with a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal.

    There will be set timeframes for our apartment residents to use this space exclusively, while bookings for private functions can be made at reception.

    A café, which will be located on our ground floor, will also provide you with opportunities for catch ups and gatherings.

  • Who are the apartments intended for?

    The apartments are intended for retirees, and those aged 65 and above.

  • What type of care and support can I access?

  • Waiting for a Home Care Package or not eligible?

    As a UnitingSA West Lakes resident, you can access our comprehensive range of Home Care support services at a special discounted hourly rate.

  • Can I get meals delivered?

    Yes, we have an on-site chef who can cook you three nutritious meals a day. Meals can be delivered to your apartment and will be available on a flexible basis.

    It’s important to mention that we can accommodate all dietary requirements – there is always an alternative on offer.

  • What additional on-site facilities are available?

    The ground floor area of our $50m UnitingSA West Lakes complex is home to the office of State Member for Lee, the Hon Stephen Mullighan.

    Opportunities for a café, hair salon and allied health services are being explored, and we hope to have more information soon.

  • What happens if my care needs change?

    As a UnitingSA West Lakes resident, you will have access to the ultimate continuum of care — from independent living right through to residential care — meaning you may never have to move again and couples can remain together under one roof.

    Importantly, you will benefit from priority access to vacancies within our Residential Aged Care facility.

  • What is the first step to becoming a resident?

    To secure an apartment, the first step is to contact our Retirement Living Coordinator Margaret on (08) 8448 6258 or retirementliving@unitingsa.com.au.

    Margaret will provide you with a ‘Registration of Interest’ form to complete and discuss this exciting opportunity with you further.
