Through one-on-one mentoring, the program can help you take the next step towards study, training or work, with practical support available for eligible costs such as transport, childcare, training and essential items.

How can Parent Pathways help?
Your Mentor can help you with:
- Setting education and employment goals
- Financial support (up to $1,250 per year to cover the costs of training, text books, transport, purchase of a computer or other practical items)
- Accessing childcare (including covering the cost of waitlist fees or bonds)
- Creating a resume
- Training and study opportunities
- Finding and keeping a job
- Transport assistance
- Balancing work and family life
- Referrals for other health and wellbeing support.
Who is eligible for Parent Pathways?
You are eligible for Parent Pathways if you:
- Are the parent or carer of a child aged under 6
- Are not currently in paid employment
- Live in an area where there is a Parent Pathways provider
AND you receive one of these payments
- Parenting Payment
- Carer Payment
- Special benefit
OR you are either
- Under the age of 22
- An early school leaver
- A First Nations parent or carer

Is Parent Pathways free?

Who can access Parent Pathways?
You may be eligible if you are a parent or carer of a child under 6, are not currently in paid employment and live in an area where there is a Parent Pathways provider. Other eligibility criteria also applies.

Do I need to receive a Centrelink payment to be eligible?
To be eligible you must either receive a Parenting Payment, Carer Payment or Special Benefit, OR be under 22, an early school leaver or a First Nations parent or carer.
