Thank you for helping
save Christmas

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our 2025 Christmas Appeal

Together, our outstanding donors and partner organisations raised more than $42,700 to help save Christmas for individuals, families and children doing it tough.

This meant we were able to support 736 households during the Christmas period and distribute more than 5,200 gifts, food items and clothing items to those in need.

Our annual Christmas Day lunch also welcomed 47 community members to celebrate a day filled with goodwill and happiness.

Donations flooded in not only from generous individuals but also from South Australian businesses, schools, church communities, local councils, retirement villages and other organisations who wanted to support the difference we make in our community.

From all of us at UnitingSA and on behalf of the people we support, thank you for helping us make this positive impact.

Holding on to hope

27-year-old Kayla has been on a rough journey for the past few years. Unfortunate circumstances and some poor life choices caused Kayla to lose access to her children.

That’s where UnitingSA stepped in to give the young mum a small miracle to help make sure the family enjoyed a happy Christmas.

"My kids motivate me. I don’t want to feel that loss again.”

Locals still need our support throughout the year

If you’d like to support our work year-round, we encourage you to set up a regular donation from as little as $20 a month.

You can be assured 100 per cent of your donation goes directly to those who need it.

In-kind donations are gratefully received at our Emergency Relief Centre, 58 Dale Street, Port Adelaide (between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday). Please note that we can only accept new and unused in-kind donations.

Here are just three real-life stories of how your gift can help.

Bring joy to South Australian individuals and families in need. Donate today.

A young couple, both aged 19, were forced to flee their family homes with no belongings and ended up sleeping rough for months.

They are about to move into their own home together and your donation will help them purchase a toaster, kettle and new set of bed sheets.

A 51-year-old single person with no support network of family or friends is about to move into one of our affordable housing units and restart their life.

Following a long history of domestic violence and with no personal belongings since escaping over a year ago, your donation will help with essential items such as furniture, a microwave and comfy quilt.

A mum of two has found herself unemployed after escaping domestic violence and is starting the long process of rebuilding her life. She desperately wants to give her children the happy times they dream of.

Your donation can help ensure each of her children receive a gift and stocking fillers, as well as a grocery voucher to help feed the family.

“I would still be on the streets if it wasn’t for the support of UnitingSA. It means the world to me to have a house for my whole family and to be able to tuck my children in at night.”
