UnitingSA has constructed 70 modern apartments in the inner city suburb of Bowden. Offering enhanced community living, Uniting on Second delivers affordable housing options for a diverse mix of South Australians on low to moderate incomes.
In December 2023, RenewalSA announced UnitingSA as the preferred partner for the delivery of 70 new affordable homes in Bowden. The development, known as Uniting on Second, is located on a 1,174sqm site.
Creation of community is a key outcome of the building design, with generous communal spaces including a quality rooftop garden and alfresco area encouraging interaction among residents.
The project is UnitingSA’s largest community housing development to date. Designed and constructed in just over 2 years, it has delivered more housing to the market at a time of record shortages.

Uniting on Second will provide new affordable rental homes for people on low incomes, with rent capped at 75 per cent of market value.
