As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to evolve, we would like to assure you that the health and wellbeing of our residents, clients, colleagues and communities remains our absolute priority.
This is an issue of unprecedented scale and human impact, however UnitingSA is well placed to continue delivering critical services to our community while minimising the risk to our people.
We have detailed response plans in place and have already taken important steps to minimise the risk to our valued team and all of those we walk alongside.
We are:
- cancelling non-essential events and gatherings
- minimising work meetings
- introducing COVID-19 screening processes across our services
- putting work-at-home provisions in place
- reducing the delivery of non-critical face-to-face services
- restricting visitor access at our aged care homes
- putting staff leave provisions in place to provide security
We are increasingly aware that we will be living with the impact of COVID-19 for months – not weeks. We need to deal with this sensibly and strategically and with a spirit of kindness for one another.
We will continue to make critical decisions with vigilance and courage, informed by the latest Federal Government advice and guided by our Vision, Mission and Values.
At times such as these, our motto of ‘Together we can’ becomes far more than a slogan. We all have a role to play in limiting the impact of COVID-19 on our community.
You can be assured that the UnitingSA Board and Executive Management team fully support the actions our staff are taking on the front line to reduce the impact of COVID-19. We are also ready to respond to critical issues as they arise.
We find ourselves in the midst of a once in 100 year event. Please take care of your wellbeing and look after one another.
Take care please,
Gael Fraser (Chair of the Board) and Libby Craft (CEO)
