Musician

The musician volunteer is responsible for bringing their musical talent to perform and bring the joy of music to the residents enabling residents to enjoy favourite tunes and songs and reminisce through the power of music.

Locations:  Semaphore Park, Grange, West Lakes, Seaton, Salisbury North

Days & Times:  Monday to Saturday (negotiable) – 10:00 am to 4:30 pm – Centrelink requirements can be met

Duties:

  • Perform music for the residents and engage them through music, singing and conversation
  • Communicate respectfully at all times with residents, visitors, staff and other volunteers at all times
  • Establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with residents
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in relations to the residents at all times

Requirements:

Essential

  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions Work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to play a musical instrument

Desirable

  • Experience performing to older people and their individual needs
  • A knowledge and understanding of dementia

Other Requirements:

  • National Police Check
  • NDIS Clearance
  • Covid-19 vaccinations
