We understand it can be difficult to navigate the changing disability support system so our staff are ready to help you.

We can provide information on eligibility and pre-planning and once you have your NDIS plan we can discuss how the NDIS services provided by UnitingSA may support you.

Disability Royal Commission

We are committed to work with the Disability Royal Commission and encourages people with disability, their families, support people, organisations and the broader community to share their experiences living with a disability. Find out more in this factsheet or click here for the easy read version.

Should UnitingSA receive a request to contribute to the Disability Royal Commission through the provision of information and documentation, we are fully committed to working with the Royal Commission openly and transparently to realise the fundamental human rights of people with disability.

NDIS Peer Support Program

The NDIS Peer Support Program provides recovery-oriented psychosocial support within the NDIS environment. This program is delivered using a 100 per cent lived experience team and addresses support gaps that people with a psychosocial disability experienced transitioning to the NDIS.

Translated NDIS Information

Australians from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background have a lower participation rate in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

UnitingSA is seeking to raise awareness about the NDIS and other disability services among people from multicultural backgrounds.

These translated fact sheets have been developed to provide language-specific information to help CALD communities get started with the NDIS.

“I was feeling depressed and anxious before coming to Taperoo Community Centre and now I feel as though I belong for the first time in my life. The classes have helped me believe in myself and that I am capable of learning.”
