We wish to provide you with an update on the COVID-19 situation at West Lakes Aged Care.
We are pleased to advise that no COVID-positive residents have been identified through the PCR testing undertaken yesterday (Tuesday, 10 May 2022).
This means we remain at four COVID-positive residents, who are all situated on Level 3.
We still await some residents’ PCR results and will notify families directly if their loved one returns a positive test.
We are also pleased to advise there have been no COVID-positive cases detected among West Lakes Aged Care staff. All team members continue to undertake Rapid Antigen Tests before each shift and must return a negative result prior to working.
Level 3 remains the only floor closed to visitors at this time, and the following measures are also in place:
- Residents are encouraged to remain in their room, with meal deliveries and regular wellbeing checks.
- Only staff zoned to this floor are permitted to enter the area.
- Staff are wearing full PPE (goggles, gowns, gloves and masks).
We have also deployed extra staff to help provide residents additional companionship and care during this time.
We hope to be able to reunite families and friends with their loved ones in the near future, however remain mindful that the COVID-19 situation can quickly change. We will continue to closely monitor the number of cases onsite and provide you with updates over the coming days.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we continue to respond to the current situation and work to protect the health and safety of the entire West Lakes Aged Care community.
