Help us save Christmas for South Australians who are struggling

With December 25 now just a few weeks away, many of us are looking forward to enjoying downtime and catching up with family and friends over the festive season.

While the festive season is a joy for many, for others in our community it’s a stressful and lonely time that only heightens the pressures and difficulties they experience.

Our Emergency Assistance team has been preparing for a surge in calls for support this year and we’re hoping you’ll help us save Christmas for families and individuals in need.

There are several ways you can assist:

  • Cash donation will help UnitingSA take the anxiety out of Christmas for those in need and ensure that no one who comes to us for support leaves empty-handed. All money raised goes towards vouchers for food, transport, personal hygiene items and even a seat at our annual Christmas Day lunch.
  • New toys will bring joy to a child or teenager on Christmas morning. This year, we are in great need of gifts for boys aged 10 – 14 years (think skateboards, headphones and sporting gear). All toys collected are displayed in our beautifully decorated Toy Room, making the selection process an exciting experience for parents and caregivers.
  • Non-perishable foods like pasta, sauces, soups and canned fruit and vegetables will help relieve financial stress over the festive season. We accept these donations on weekdays from 58 Dale Street Port Adelaide.
  • Register your workplace, club or church to be a Gift Partner and collect gifts for our Toy Toom.

By working together we can Save Christmas, by putting food on the table and gifts under the tree for local families in need. You can be assured that 100 per cent of all cash and in-kind donations go directly to those in need.
