Housing Options

How can we help?

Our housing services provide affordable rental options for those who need it most.

We understand that housing is about more than shelter. It’s the platform on which we build strong communities and support people to participate and flourish.

We provide affordable housing to those on low to moderate incomes who are having difficulty securing housing in the private rental market. We have a range of housing options, from units to free-standing homes, and manage tenancies and properties as a landlord.

Explore our services below and download a brochure for more information.

Uniting on Second

UnitingSA is building 70 modern apartments in the inner city suburb of Bowden. Offering enhanced community living, Uniting on Second will deliver affordable housing options for a diverse mix of South Australians on low to moderate incomes.

Creation of community is a key outcome of the building design, with generous communal spaces including a quality rooftop garden and alfresco area encouraging interaction among residents.

Uniting on Second is targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating, representing Australian excellence in better, healthier and more responsible buildings.

How is rent calculated?

We offer two types of housing options: Social Housing and Affordable Housing.

For Social Housing, rent is based on a percentage of household income. Whereas, for Affordable Housing rent is based on a percentage of market rental prices.

Where are our properties located?

While we provide housing across a number of areas in metropolitan Adelaide, most of our housing options are located in the northern and western suburbs.

Download a list of our property locations.

How can I register my interest for housing?

Download the Registration of Interest in Housing form. We can also email or post a form to you on request.

Submit the completed form to either:

If you need help or have questions about this registration form, please contact SA Housing Trust on 131 299 or visit one of their offices.

Please note: Lodging this form does not guarantee housing and no time frames for housing are offered. Registrations of interest will not be accepted by people already receiving subsidised rental accommodation via other community housing organisations or SA Housing Trust.

In some situations your support worker – e.g. social worker or medical professional, may undertake a Housing Needs Assessment by completing a Housing Needs Assessment Form on your behalf and returning this to UnitingSA Housing. This information can be used to help determine which category is most appropriate for you.
