This week UnitingSA responded to potential COVID-19 exposures across three of our Residential Aged Care sites.

West Lakes, Seaton and Westminster Aged Care were among 22 Adelaide aged care sites which were visited by two health professionals, who later tested positive to COVID-19.

We’re pleased to advise that the residents who came into contact with the medical practitioner all returned negative test results as part of the initial round of testing. As per SA Health directions, the residents will continue to isolate until all rounds of COVID-19 testing are complete.

We are still awaiting the COVID-19 test results of several West Lakes team members, who remain in isolation.

In line with SA Health directives, our West Lakes and Seaton Aged Care sites closed to visitors on Tuesday. Seaton Aged Care has now reopened after a staff member returned a negative COVID-19 result. Westminster also remains open to fully vaccinated visitors.

Based on SA Health advice, UnitingSA West Lakes currently remains closed to visitors, but we hope the situation is quickly resolved and we can welcome visitors back into our home.

Thank you to our West Lakes, Seaton and Westminster Aged Care teams, who effectively implemented our detailed COVID-19 management plan and ensured residents remained safe and well supported throughout the week. It was an incredible effort by all involved and demonstrates our capacity to respond rapidly and efficiently in times of heightened COVID-19 risk.

We appreciate the support and cooperation of aged care family and friends at this time and will continue to provide regular updates.

Keep up to date with our response to COVID-19.
